about almaZINE.

understanding begins here.

Have you ever wished for a clearer lens to view the diverse landscape of human experience?
Here at almaZINE, based in Norway, that’s precisely what we aim to provide.
Founded by Marina Tjetland, Leah Brickhouse, and Andra Farcau, almaZINE is a space dedicated to helping us all learn the difference.
Not just see differences, but truly understand the unique paths people walk.
We believe that fostering awareness, especially within health, education, and community spaces, is the first step towards deeper empathy and connection.
our compass.

why understanding the difference matters.
Our vision is simple yet profound: a world more connected through genuine understanding.
We see immense value in exploring the nuances that make us human.
From navigating women’s health across life’s stages to embracing multicultural perspectives, understanding mental well-being, and demystifying sexuality.
almaZINE exists to support this exploration.
We embrace intersectionality not as buzzwords, but as essential elements of a thriving society.
Focusing on different realities and fostering open dialogue, we help make complex or sensitive topics more approachable, creating spaces where uncomfortable becomes comfortable through shared learning.

how we navigate.

creativity guided by values.
Our journey towards understanding is guided by core principles:

empathy
fosters genuine connection.

openness
invites honest conversation.

respect
honors every story.

representation
ensures voices are heard.

empowerment
comes from knowledge.

collaboration
amplifies impact.

Our values are embedded into everything we create.
Through visual storytelling, primarily in our unique educational ZINEs, we translate complex ideas into accessible narratives.
We also explore these themes through conversation on the almaZINE podcast.
It’s about meeting people where they are, offering tools and perspectives for individuals seeking self-understanding and for organisations aiming to cultivate more inclusive environments.
